Bristol has an unusually strong independent and street food sector, and buyers here ask more questions about materials than in most markets. That is a good thing, and it is worth answering properly rather than with marketing language.
The operational picture is familiar from any street food scene: no storage, extreme peaks, outdoor trading and a strong incentive to run as few packaging lines as possible.
Tell us the tray, the quantity and where it is going. Freight is quoted to your address rather than added later.
We will tell you what a tray is made from, what treatment is on the food-contact face, and what certification — if any — the specific material holds and in which market. What we will not do is describe something as compostable or biodegradable unless the material you order genuinely carries that certification here, because those terms have defined meanings and the risk of an unsupported claim sits with whoever prints it on the pack.
If environmental positioning matters to your brand, ask for the material specification in writing and build your copy from that. A specific, accurate statement is both stronger and safer than a general one.
A pitch has no storage. Assembled containers are mostly air and will not fit in the van alongside stock.
One tray covering several menu items halves what you carry and concentrates volume for a better price.
Outdoor trading means ambient damp whatever the forecast, and a wet tray fails with a full load.
Read from ten metres across a market. Bold and large, in one or two colours on kraft.
Chosen against the requirements described above, not as a general catalogue listing.

View tray & get pricing →Yes, in writing — the material, the treatment on the food-contact face, and any certification the specific grade holds and in which market. That is the basis for any claim you make on the pack.
Only if the specific material you order carries that certification here. We will supply the documentation; we will not describe a tray as compostable simply because it is made from fibre.
Flat-packed formats, as few lines as your menu allows, and a moisture-tolerant board. Batch-assemble during setup and quiet spells rather than at the window during a rush.
Often, because a trader concentrates volume on one or two formats and puts packaging in front of a new audience at every market. One or two colours on kraft keeps short runs viable.
Enough for a season, stored centrally. Ordering per event costs more per unit and risks running out at the worst moment; ordering a year ahead risks stock softening in a damp store.
Send the specification, the quantity and the delivery address. We come back with unit price, tooling if any, freight and a real production date.
