Fast Food & Concession Trays
Popcorn is sold by volume and eaten by the handful, which makes the pack unusually important: the customer’s sense of value comes almost entirely from how full and how large the container looks, because the actual weight of popcorn in it is trivial.
That makes this one of the few packaging categories where making the pack slightly larger and slightly more visually generous is a straightforwardly good commercial decision.
Pricing starts from $0.30 per tray
The unit price depends on the size, board, printing, finishing, quantity and delivery country, so every quote is worked out for your specification rather than taken from a list.
Send the size and the run length. We reply with pricing, material options and a production date — usually within one working day.
01 — Specification
Every element below is set when we quote. Nothing here is a fixed catalogue entry — if a line does not match what you need, say so and we will change it.
02 — Build the spec
The same five questions we would ask on a phone call, with the popcorn scoop tray already selected. You get a properly detailed brief at the end, which is what makes a first quote accurate rather than approximate.

03 — In detail
A small and a large popcorn need to look different from three metres away, on a lit counter, to somebody deciding in four seconds. If your two sizes differ by twenty per cent in volume, they will look near-identical and the upsell will not work.
The practical fix is to make the size step larger than you think it needs to be, and to change the proportion as well as the volume — a taller pack reads as bigger than a wider one of the same capacity. Fill both with actual popcorn and look at them side by side from across a room before committing.
| Venue | Format | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Cinema | Tall box or tub | Fits a cup holder or an armrest; big print panel faces the screen queue |
| Fairground | Open scoop | Fastest to fill, most visible, best photographed |
| Stadium concourse | Box that fits a carrier | Has to sit in a carrier tray alongside drinks |
| Retail and gourmet | Printed box or tub with a closure | Needs a legal panel, a barcode and a shelf life |
| Event catering | Small scoop or cone | Individual portions handed out; volume per unit is small |
Popcorn is a heavily photographed product at exactly the venues where it is sold — cinemas, fairs, events. The pack is in every one of those images, usually held up, usually well lit.
That justifies a more ambitious print than the unit cost would otherwise suggest. Bold colour, a strong wordmark and a period-appropriate style — striped, fairground, retro — all photograph well and cost very little more than a plain single colour.
04 — Nearby
Chosen because operators who buy the popcorn scoop tray usually need one of these in the same order, not because they happen to sit in the same category.

By fill volume, and with a bigger step between sizes than you think you need. Two sizes that differ by twenty per cent look identical on a counter and the upsell fails. Fill both with popcorn and view them from across a room.
Yes. Butter soaks into plain board within minutes and darkens it. Caramel and cheese coatings cause their own problems. If you serve anything other than plain popcorn, specify a treated face.
A scoop for fairs and fast counter service. A box for cinemas and anywhere the pack has to stand up or fit a holder. A tub for retail and gourmet lines where a closure and a shelf life are needed.
If we size it to yours. Send the holder dimensions — armrest and seat-back holders vary between venues and a pack that does not fit is an immediate complaint.
Yes, and on this product it is often justified. The pack is photographed constantly at the venues where it is sold, so the print is doing brand work at a scale that outweighs the extra cost per unit.
They can, if we size them together. Tell us the carrier you use — or order both from us — and we will make sure the popcorn box sits in the food bay properly rather than perching on top.
Vent any closed pack. Warm coated popcorn releases moisture, and in a sealed container the coating loses its snap within the hour. For retail lines with a shelf life, that is a barrier and sealing question rather than a venting one.
Boxes and scoops ship flat and form by hand. Tubs are usually pre-formed and nest. Flat is far better for a fair or a mobile pitch where storage is the constraint.
Send the dimensions, the quantity and the country you want it delivered to. We come back with a full quote — material, print, finishing, freight and a production date.
